How We Work

RTW Process

Holistic approach

Occupational therapists (OTs) consider the whole person—their physical, cognitive, emotional, and social well-being.

Functional assessment

We assess an individual’s functional capacity, including physical abilities, cognitive skills, and emotional resilience. Return to work plans are based on these assessments.

Individualized solutions

We collaborate with the injured worker, employers, and other stakeholders to create personalized plans that align with the individual’s unique needs, job requirements, and workplace environment.

The above information is collated into a comprehensive, individualized return to work plan. This includes workplace accommodations, including ergonomic adjustments and assistive devices, to optimize productivity and safety during the transition back to work. Psychosocial factors, coping strategies and stress management issues are addressed to enhance resilience and reduce anxiety. Employers are educated in how to provide a supportive work environment.

By blending clinical expertise with empathy and practical solutions, workers are provided with effective return to work programs. This process optimizes function, well-being, and collaboration to ensure a smoother reintegration process for injured workers.
