Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, otherwise known as ACT, is an extremely effective and scientifically supported form of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT).  ACT is now supported by hundreds of scientific studies and can be effective in helping you achieve the best version of yourself.

This may include:

  • Career advancement
  • Competitive sporting pursuits
  • Community participation/involvement
  • Relationships
  • … or just about any life role that is important to you

Claire is an ACT trained accredited mental health occupational therapist who can help you achieve your personal life goals through a unique combination of ACT and specific life skills training/therapeutic intervention.

ACT can help you:

  • Move away from unhelpful habits
  • Manage ruminating thoughts
  • Transform your relationship with difficult feelings
  • Achieve a goal
  • Live a more meaningful life

Through a short course of ACT based intervention, you can learn skills in how to operate from a place of active self-awareness, based on the principles of mindfulness, which provides a powerful platform from which to direct and operate your life.

Where needed, specific life skills training is provided, grounded firmly in occupational therapy principles and evidence based practices.

Claire is registered with Medicare and is qualified to provide services through the Better Access to Mental Health scheme, meaning that eligible patients can claim a rebate if they have been provided with a Mental Health Care Plan from their doctor.  Claire may also be able to provide services through WorkCover Queensland with an appropriate referral.  Rebates and concessional rates are available as applicable.

If you do not feel that you are living up to your full potential in any area of your life, ACT with Claire may help.  Please contact us to make a referral.
